XO.PL Content Copyright & License

Funny IT exists to make difficult IT topics easier to understand, remember and share. We don't want to lock these stories away. You can read, quote, copy, share and reuse them — as long as you follow the licence below.

Educational articles — Creative Commons CC BY 4.0

Original educational articles published as XO.PL — Funny IT, for which the XO.PL operator holds the necessary rights, are offered under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, unless a specific work states otherwise.

This licence permits copying, redistribution, public performance and display, translations, adaptations and commercial use. You do not need to ask for individual permission as long as you follow its terms.

What attribution is required?

Credit the author as identified in the original material (unless stated otherwise: XO.PL — Funny IT), provide the title and link to the original article, identify and link to the CC BY 4.0 licence, and indicate whether you made changes. Retain notices of attribution, copyright and disclaimers accompanying the work where applicable.

Example attribution:

Source: “QoS: priority lanes on a crowded highway”, XO.PL — Funny IT, https://xo.pl/funny-it-net-qos, licensed under CC BY 4.0. [If applicable: abridged or translated].

Can I use this content in my own project?

Yes. You may quote part of an article on a blog, use an explanation in training, translate it or publish an adapted version, including in commercial projects. Attribute the work, provide the source and licence and identify your changes. The licence does not imply that XO.PL endorses or sponsors your use.

What is not automatically covered?

The educational-text licence does not automatically cover website source code, PHP and JavaScript scripts, CSS stylesheets, trademarks, logos, illustrations, photographs, third-party materials or other site assets. Those items are governed by their own terms or require separate permission. A third party's rights are not licensed merely because their material appears alongside ours.

Accuracy and responsibility

These articles are educational. Technical guidance may need to be adapted to individual systems, configurations and current software versions. Materials are provided without warranty to the extent permitted by law. The authoritative terms are in the full legal licence.

In short: copy, teach, translate and share. Tell people where the text came from, which licence applies, and what you changed. Knowledge works best when it keeps moving.
